From the federal level on down, we’ve seen politics creep its way into the judicial branch. But our courts should be independent, and in Arizona, they have been.
According to published media reports, out-of-state liberal groups like the National Democratic Redistricting Committee and Planned Parenthood Votes have budgeted $5 million to take over Arizona’s Court and defeat Justices Clint Bolick and Kate King.
If they succeed, liberal Governor Katie Hobbs will get to choose their replacements, giving liberals a majority on the Arizona Supreme Court for the first time.
The Supreme Court should be a check and a balance — not a rubber stamp. We need to maintain a separation of powers.
